Volunteers from the Friends of the Nature Park are sponsoring monthly walks through the park. Choose from either a leisurely photography-friendly meander through selected areas of the park (Saturdays), a 2-3 mile moderate-paced walk (Saturday/Sunday), or a brisk 5-mile walk covering all natural areas in the park (Sundays). Walks will take 1-1/2 to 2 hours and will start from the Interpretive Center. These walks are chances to: get acquainted with the park and its history; see native birds, plants and animals; and walk with other nature enthusiasts. Walks go rain or shine but may be cancelled for high winds. Wear clothes and shoes that can handle muddy trails. Feel free to bring cameras and binoculars. No need to sign up in advance. Just show up at the scheduled time inside the Nature Park Interpretive Center. Scheduled walks are posted to the events tab on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/naturalresources/events
