By: Mark NoonanProclaimed the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan, the Portland Japanese Garden is a 5.5-acre haven of tranquil beauty nestled in the scenic west hills of Portland, Oregon. What better place to take a walk especially with fall foliage just kicking in. It should be beautiful.
The walk will start out guided by two of Elders in Action's volunteers who also are guides at the Garden. Tours last about 45 minute and is completely outdoors and on foot. Participant are welcome to stay after to explore the garden or just enjoy the solitude. Accessibility for visitors with disabilities is limited. Please call ahead for details: (503) 223-1321.
The Japanese Garden has extended us a special rate of $7.00. There are limited free scholarships for individuals where the cost is a hardship. Contact Mark at (503) 595-7533

The Garden is located in the west hills of Portland, Oregon, directly above the Rose Gardens in Washington Park.
